  The Virtual Lifestyle

The way the world works today with all its technology gives way to a completely different lifestyle. You could call it, the virtual lifestyle. Outsourcing and BPO companies fit into this new world culture perfectly. Kaballah has a lot to say about time, space, and motion not existing. According to Kaballah, if you decide to go to Hawaii, you are already there. The only things that separate you are time, space, and motion which are illusions in the physical. String theory and Kaballah seem to be along the same lines. Karmically, you are really there. Your thoughts and vibration can reflect where you are going on a trip, even 24 hours before you get on the plane. So, what does it all mean?

In the old days, we had horseback messengers, then there were telegrams, then telephones, then mobile phones, and now we are in a completely different generation. Phones don't even look like phones. Going to Verizon is culture shock for those of us over 25! The world now revolves around i-phones and their clones, web sites, and whatever we buy could be from anywhere in the world. You can live our whole life without leaving your house.

People who you work with might not even want to see you. They could be 3000 miles away, or next door, but they want to do their work remotely. Since we are used to remote working conditions, BPO companies, call centers, and other outsourcing outfits are very much within our sphere of consciousness. We are used to people from around the world, and working remotely.

But, what matters in business is quickly being forgotten. Business is not primarily about money, profit margins, products, or even action. Try telling that to the airline industries who save a penny any way they can. Business is about relationships and trusts. Try selling a service to someone who doesn't know you or trust you. You won't get far. But, try selling something to someone who has known you well for years, and knows your talents. You won't have to sell yourself, they will just buy, and also recommend you to their friends. So, although we are virtual these days, personal relationships are paramount.

Getting on a plane and meeting people face to face and spending time with them is not absolutely necessary these days, but its a good idea in many situations. If you are going to have a long-term relationship with an outsourcing / BPO company, or any type of company, you should know them. They will take fewer liberties the better you know them, plus your relationship will be better. People are always more helpful to those they know.
