  Background checking employees

If you are hiring a new BPO company, you need to not only have a nice dinner with the boss, but you need to know their employees too. Business relations with Indian companies always start with a nice dinner, French wine, ice cream, and great conversation. Travel, business, economics, leisure, family, and relationships are all part of the dinner conversation. But, you need to know the characters who the boss hires too. You don't know what type of background checks the boss uses on his employees. In foreign countries the term background check might be part of a lexicon that doesn't even exist in their world. So, how do you know you are safe with whomever you are working with?

There are BPO companies who do background checks on individuals. So, you can hire a BPO to background check people who work at another BPO. You also need to consider how good your background checking company is. Maybe you need to background check them too. This is sounding more and more like a Russian spy story.
Background checks are not for free, but consider the costs you face if you get a nightmare of an employee. An employee who steals your sensitive information that you keep for clients, can cost you millions or "Crores" as the Indians say. In some cases, one bad employee could ruin your reputation or even put you out of business. So, makre sure you drill your perspective BPO company about how they drill their employees. Don't just ask them how they background check their workers, double check their paperwork. People can tell you any story that they want, but seeing cold, hard, records is harder to produce. Don't settle for stories, settle for facts.

There are different levels of scrutinization you can employ. Asking a company how they check up on their employees is step one. If your questioning draws up a blank page, it may be time to move on. But, what if you get convincing records on employees forwarded to you? Are these records comprehensive, are they reliable, and are they fraudulent? The deeper you dig, the more you find.

Background checks seem like a burden to some, and an inconvenience to others. The trick here is to make it your passion, otherwise you will do a faulty job. Take pride in being an amateur detective, and dig to your hearts content. Sure, you will irritate people, but thats part of the thrill. If they are not at least slightly hot under the collar, you are probably not doing your job right in any case.
